Prepping for Makeup Application & FOTN

Hey my beauty lovers. This post will be about skin scare and prepping for makeup application. It is very stressed we prep for our skin and I didn't understand the difference and importance up until recently. I would like to share what I do to possibly help anyone.

Clearing Scrub, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion, L'oreal Magic Perfecting Base
For reference, I have very dry skin. I used to be prone to acne in highschool but no longer get any. Now I just have enlarged pores and acne scars.
Before anything, I use the Clearing Scrub. It has little beads to help exfoliate and lift away makeup, dirt, oil safely and smoothly. I use this at night as well.
After a few minutes, about 5 to 10 I apply Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Moisturizer is key for me with my dry skin, but I also hear its important for everyone's makeup preparation. It creates a "barrier" for the makeup and protects your skin. The moisturizer should set for at least 10 minutes.
Lastly, I apply L'oreal Magic Perfecting Base. This is a primer which has been compared to high end primers such as Smasbox. It's pretty much a hit or miss. I've read mixed reviews about the high end primers as well as this so I gave this a shot. It's only been 3 days and it's working well. I do notice a slight difference with my pores, but nothing dramatic. It's a good base, leaves skin feeling soft, and makeup application goes on alot smoother. I wait maybe 3 minutes before applying makeup.

So I hoped that helped anyone out there. Being a beginner, it's hard to find great info solely for ourselves.
